Limits to 10 students per ensemble.
Creative Ensemble aims to provide creative music experience for young musicians to expand musicianships that are beyond performing techniques, such as improvisation, composing, arranging, and collaboration skills.
Creative Ensemble musicians will learn to:
- Perform traditional & non-traditional repertoire.
- Arrange melodies.
- Compose melodies and harmonies.
- Improve rhythm, musicianship, techniques through collaborative playing.
Different Workshops will be offered to ensemble members in a monthly-basis.
Location: Teachers College, Columbia University
Tuition: $580 for 12 sessions.
Limited Enrollment: We are only able to offer 1-2 ensemble classes in the fall as we always try to maintain teachers to students 1:4 ratio to maximize individual learning.
*Creative Ensemble can be only conducted with a minimum of 5 members and a maximum of 10 members in a group.
Why Creative Ensemble?
We believe rigorous traditional music education may be discouraging and difficult sometimes if they do not get to be creative and collaborate with other young musicians. Peer-learning and multi-dimensional learning are missions of this class.
